Default evolution of a poker player...

i constantly hear tale of a new style of player, a new level of poker. players constantly sweat the top players and the big matches, they post and discuss hands ad nauseum. sooooooooooo, where has this all got us? what have you learned in the last 5 years, seriously. please post one hand, one play, that you use now that you wouldnt have when you were just a "good" player. before 1,000,000 hands of online play and live nosebleed play made you a great player. it can be a hand you played or a hand someone else played. just one example of a NEW concept that has changed the game. dont be shy, dont be afraid youll be ridiculed, no concept is too small even if it only nets you an extra .01/100. lets hear 'em...

Uh, math/balance issues is VERY much different nowadays because of the development of the game, compared to old live playing foxes who pretty much have no idea of what this is all about and just played extremely exploitable (in a game theoretic sense); the games can hardly be compared, math has such a bigger part in the games today. The absolute best players of the 90's (or early 2000 for that matter) would get CRUSHED by todays top online players.

So you think the game hasn't evolved at all in the last five years?

If you named a game and I cared enough, I could list a gazillion examples.

If you take the best NL player now and put him in a game 5 years ago, with the best player then, the player now is going to make the most money.

well stick w/ 7+ player nlh. 2-7 has evolved tremendously just based on its frequency in mixed games. so you have a gazillion examples. just give 3.
