Where do you people live where you call this game "beirut?"

I have only ever heard this on 2+2. Its always referred to as "beer pong" here.

[/ QUOTE ]

True "beer pong" is actually played with paddles (i've never played but theres some sort of points system or something), the real name for the type of bp talked about here is beirut. However nobody actually calls it that.

Edit: And the standard line here is to drink the cup if it's yours or let it slide if it's theirs, and beat them regardless so you're that much more balla.

In your sentence, what is the word "that" referring to?

Are you saying nobody actually calls the game beruit? If so, why are people use the term online...

beirut is a new england thing. i don't know why everyone else calls it beer pong, but whatever.

i've been playing a new game that's a mix of beirut and flip cup. you line 4 cups in a row on each side. the first cup is a single, second cup is a double and so on. 5 people on each team. 3 outs per inning, 9 innings. there is a cup on each side of the table in the middle of the table. if someone gets on base they can steal the base by running to either side and playing flip cup against the defense with that one cup. it's a really fun game and gets a lot more people involved.

anyone ever try it?

I meant that most people call beirut "beer pong".

Around here at least, "beer pong" and "beirut" mean the same thing (the game without paddles where you toss pong balls across a table into cups.) In fact, most people around here have never heard of Beirut, they just know it as Beer Pong.

Though, "beer pong" can also refer to another game where you actually use paddles and it plays a lot more like pingpong (as in the movie Beerfest.)

In general, when you hear "beer pong" assume they are talking about the game without paddles.

"takes this game seriously"+"frat bros"= lol gold.

And as for my opinion, I don't call that on another team, but if someone bitches at me about it then my standard line mirrors that of rakk
