Re: Awkward Spot with JJ
OOP sucks. This is a common and tough spot. His range for calling the flop? Sets, 98s, T9s, JTs, A9s. If you bet the turn he will call with most of these hands, but raise 2 pr and sets. I b/f the turn.

Re: Awkward Spot with JJ
we lose to flopped sets. We beat OESD's, 98, A9,other random stuff. With the odds I'm getting on river, i say [censored] it, this is the top of my turn c/c range, I call.

[/ QUOTE ] what's a push? $39 more to him... basically a min raise after you've showed weakness for 2 streets and top 2 got counterfeited |

Re: Awkward Spot with JJ
Lead turn, c/c riv, c/r is viable too if he has drooler potential. Or you can lead. You really can't play the river wrong as long as you don't c/f. It's an interesting board to play on the riv because he has a lot of marginal-strength pair hands in his range that will call but won't bet as well as a lot of whiffed draws that will bluff.
Check-raising the river actually won't get called that often, but I feel like you're never behind here. Lots of ppl will be downie enough to call a c/r with like 98 though. |
