Default 200nl 4 handed, standard Fd+pair hand

Playing on mansion so no HH. The game is currently 4 handed, it was 6 previously. I have been playing for about 15 minutes and the villian seems very aggro, he has raised his button every time for 15 minutes, and half of his co's. He hasn't played any big pots that i've seen, just been taking it down with c-bets.

I am posting this because I have been playing mainly full ring for the past year, and want to get back into 6-max. The hand is super standard, is this the most EV way to play it?

Hero 200$ in the BB
Villian 200 UTG

Villian makes it 6$, folds to me I call 4$ more with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Raise here? I am OOP and villian has a huge range so I decided not too.

Flop j [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Pot:13$

Hero checks, villian bets 10$, Hero raises to 28$, villian makes it 58$, I shove.

I went for the check-raise because we have quite a bit of money behind, so I could 4-bet all in instead of bet/3-bet, hopefully more FE.

I shoulda check-raised 5$ more probably also. Is this the most +EV way to play it? Could check calling and getting it in if I hit be more +ev?

I prefer rr-ing PF but flat calling is okay if your comfortable making semi moves (leading some flops, c/r-ing others, etc).

Flop I like the c/r. I would shove over the 3-bet. You still have decent equity vs. most any hand(s) in his range. Bet/3-bet is also an option.

you played it fine imo. in the blinds, you should mix folding, calling and raising against an agressive blindstealer, so that was fine too, as long as you don't call everytime

i like your line because you make more the times he has air than b/3bet, and you also still have lots of fold equity when he actually shows up with a one pair hand...

i agree with what orange says about PF as well - 3betting PF is prob best vs this guy.
(fwiw i think the pokerstove range is way tight for villain. maybe 99+, 44, AJ KQs, would be better - i think he has sets/AJ in his range quite often but that dosnt drastically change your equity)

yeah my equity range is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too tight, it was just showing how good we are vs. even a very tight range.

Cool that's basically what I was thinking as well, I'm gonna mix up rr and calling pre. I really hate being OOP but this is 4 handed and I have a decent hand. He ended up having KJo and snapcalled my raise, but I hit my flush.

roger,

i think the cold call is okay.

three betting is of course always an option.

i would prefer a b3b line over the c/r, personally.
