anyone have any knowlege about putting porn ads on a blog?
on my blog, i get barely any money per click. i'm pretty sure that this is because my blog is a bike riding blog and not a lot of bike companies care about advertising via google. compared to a poker blog, this makes sense since poker sites would be VERY interested in advertising through google.
anyway i'm considering putting up porn ads because 1) they will probably get way more clicks considering that my viewer range is like all male, ages 15-30 and 2) i'm sure porn ads pay much better than the stupid ads that i have up now which i can't imagine any of my viewers are actually interested in. anyone who knows anything about this, i'd be very interested. |

also i'm currently running a poll on my forum to see if there are any people who wouldn't be able to view the board, since they might view it from school or work. this is probably a good measure to take, since i don't want my traffic to be limited on the forum while it is still growing ( although to be honestly it has been growing at a tremendous rate considering the relatively small market ).

Personally I think it'd be kinda weird going to a blog like that where you consider it safe for work/school and one day see porn banners all over the place.
Have you looked for any affiliate programs? There's gotta be somewhere you can signup and promote kneepads, bike pegs, helmets and all that other BMX stuff. |

What about ads for dating websites, they are pseudo adult websites, usually have a pic of a hot chick, but clothed, would still get clicks but would be more suitable for work/school.

Avoid the adult content.
I would listen to others ideas of trying out various affiliate programs. Focus on merchant programs relevant to your topic and include links within your blog posts. You can also add text adds/banners to your page of the same merchants as well as some off-topic merchants that will appeal to your visitors. Plus, you will still be able to keep adsense. |

Adult content does not sell on non adult related sites. Most adult adds convert between 1:500 - 1:2000. That is when the ads are targeted to the viewers. I would expect those ads to convert 1:5000 on your site while at the same time turning viewers away.
