He was great in that I never thought he was much of an actor, and then he really delivered in this movie, so it's likely a case of low expectations. However Josh Brolin in Planet Terror WAS Great, and supposedly has a career making performance in the Coen's new flick: . No Country For Old Men

"an ending so satisfying that everyone in the theater that I watched it in leaped to their feet and started cheering and hifiving each-other."

I would say that Grindhouse's financial failure will mean that Machete will never get made, but it's Robert Rodriguez. He can film this movie on a spare weekend with some change from his couch.

if we had never seen previews, I would have liked planet terror more than deathproof. By a lot.

I can't believe that stupid, fat moron Weinstein is releasing these in separate packages and not one long double feature like the theatrical release. So utterly stupid. F!!%E%^ck you Weinstein.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think the decision to realease them as 'Grindhouse' at the cinema sucked balls for a whole bunch of reasons.

[/ QUOTE ]

I honestly wouldn't have seen Grindhouse if it hadn't been a double feature. I pretty much knew what I was getting into. I'm from the school that 2 5's equal a 10 if you know what I mean. As It was, I gotta give Rodriguez' bit a 7 and Deathproof a 3. I probably will never watch Deathproof again unless it is re-paired with the other flick. I thought the movies themselves weren't that great, but I truly felt like I was in a '70's movie theater with the so crappy it's cool trailers and the psychedelic music and special effects before and after the films.
