I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes. I have plenty of free time. Besides if you write an article that makes $10 per month and stays good for 2-3 years that's quite a bit of money on something that shouldn't take more than a couple hours to do.

Even better you could find out what everyone Forum Project site is about and you could make your articles/post/whatever on those sites. Then you would be helping us get content up there. Probably would want to wait a week or two to let people get their sites organized though.

How many downloads do you think your article needs to get before you get someone purchasing your adds, on average?

I suppose thats hard to answer, but what number should we be aiming for in say a week to determine whether or not the article/adds will be a success?

No this isn't the same article. The mentioned article in question was a myspace marketing strategy.
