Re: PokerStars December TLB race!
I love the fact that they are doing some different things promotion-wise, but I don't like the fact that a ton of money is being shelled out in this way (targeting a specific poker demographic- the tournament players).

Re: PokerStars December TLB race!
goggles,
i'd normally agree with you on stuff like this, but honestly i think you gotta chill out here. the 10 % thing is meant to add some long-term fun and also to get many recreational players to follow/get involved in live poker. i dunno, seems like a pretty decent, unexpected promotion. |

Re: PokerStars December TLB race!
In order for a 10% return to be unfair, wouldn't your expectation have to be greater than 10x buying (plus what they give you for expenses and lodging)? So for a 10k event, with say 1k in extra fees, your expected return would have to be $110,000 for it to be a break-even deal, right? I know that good players have a really high expectation in these big events, but expecting >900% ROI seems pretty absurd.
Am I completely off-base here? It seems like Stars is offering a pretty sweet staking deal for whoever wins this thing. |

Re: PokerStars December TLB race!
Anyone wanna guesstimate the 100th place tlb score?
Gonna be pretty hard for people who only play tourneys with buyins from $3-$5 rebuys and $10-$30 freezeouts (ie: me) to make the 100 without some pretty decent results |
