Re: ST louis MO area poker.
Seriously?
Any night of the week (sun-thurs) you have a whole 2 games to choose from. On weekends they might fill 8/10 of their tables but still have a waiting list out the ass. The buyin for 1/2nl is $40-$100.. Untill the Lumiere opens downtown has nothing. Your better of driving the extra 25 minutes untill then. On another note, the Casino Queen is going to open the add-ons to their casino. I didn't see anything about poker but I think we need to call them up and request it or something. I could see those games being great with the clubs near by. Besides not having a poker room in your casino is stupid for a few years now imo. |

Re: ST louis MO area poker.
I've tried the President twice. I hate it.
I don't like the buy-in or the way the game plays. The atmosphere sucks and I hate their tables. |

Re: ST louis MO area poker.
The President was great when it first opened in the early 90s. The poker room has been all over the place but at the time it was in the front on the main level with great views of the river. The floor was great, the dealers were great, and the games were great.
Even a beginner 1-4 stud player had a chance! |

Re: ST louis MO area poker.
The President is a dump, plain and simple. The Queen does have very loose slots, and consistently has the highest payback. Plus the lack of a loss limit is a huge draw. And at least as of a couple years ago, they also didn't hit soft 17 at blackjack (very few casinos still stay on soft 17, an advantage to the player). I'm not surprised that the games at the President might be soft, but it's not a big enough draw to get me to visit.
