Based on your description, sounds like a made hand, and a better made hand than yours. I am way more worried about being behind than about giving a free card. If he was capping 2 pairs on the flop, he'll probably bet them for you anyway.

I missed that button capped the flop. That plus the read does make me think he's got Q9/AQ. Turn check does seem best.

Exactly what I was thinking at the time of playing, but I thought it was too weak-tight post-mortem. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was worried about being behind.

I would think so too, but I'm paranoid. Giving a free card = getting a free card, right?

Default Thoughts and results...

Thoughts:

I actually played it passively as I was worried I was behind. I contemplated betting on the turn and calling down if button raised and probably fold river unimproved if BB happened to come to life on the turn.

I think betting the turn is still probably slightly better than checking. I would absolutely kill myself if it got checked on the turn giving free cards out, and I don't know if the button capping the flop should necessarily mean I'm behind.

I could be swayed differently though. Borderline decision.

Results:

I check, Button bet, BB called, I called.

River: Brick. BB checks, I check, Button checks !#$%#$%#$%. I have the winner obviously. Button has AA, BB has K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for flopped two pair.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Garland
