Why would villain do this w/ a FH here?

I might be wrong but does overbets are rarely nut hands.

Im not saying this is never a bluff but try to base your decision on what hands you put villian on rather than "big bet has to be a bluff" if that makes any sense.

this is either a flop fold or a turn instacall. I lean towards folding the flop.

Yes, yes I did.

Just for fun, lets look at Villians stats, what do they mean?
Is he positional aware? Probably
Does he steal? Yes
Is he over Aggro? No (maybe a little Post-flop)
Is his PFR out of line? No
He is a good player? Probably

Now, what would a villian like this, who steals from position, limp with in positon that makes a raise here good from OOP with OP cards??

His stats say little bit since he has 30hands played with him so far.
32% VPIP is quite a lot, therefore he does that with KJo as well imo.
I think the preflop raise is standard.

Hmmm. I just noticed you play on Stars. FTP has A LOT of players with 32%+. Just goes to show how even different sites play different. On FTP, you will get killed raising that kind of hand from that postion.

I play stars and not at those limits. I don't know how players play different, but I think raising here is not terrible.

Yup, playing KQo oop in this fashion pretty much sets you up for disaster as you are on the defensive from the get go.

This feels like AQ or a flopped set trying to avoid an opponent with a straight draw or flush draw and then overbetting the pot on the turn to induce a sucker call from an overpair. IF this is a move, more power to your opponent.

REMEMBER:

You are both deep. A move is very unlikely IMO.

You can definately wait for a better spot and a better feel for this player.

The raise isn't bad preflop, but you are oopsy and very vulnerable given the play, even with trips.

i know we dont have many hands on villain, but in the 30 we have seen he seems fairly laggy pf. when he open limps/calls on the button i have trouble putting him on a hand that beats you.

i think his range is very heavily weighted towards combodraws. If i call flop im willing to get it in on any turn thats not an 8,K or [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i just think its unlikely hes limping with AQ, 99, TT. 9T is possible but there are so many SC [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]s he can have, or a pair + OESD.

problem is we're oop, so if he is combo drawing and we just call flop he can take the free card if he wants.

as played i def call this.
