FWIW Havlat performed in the playoffs. Hell, he was the only one who did last year. The problems for the Sens were Bonk, Hossa and Alfredsson for the most part. Their production just dropped right off.

Pronger should get a game for that BS. But I'm sure some in here will start arguing that he didn't know where Holmstrom's head was and that Pronger is being punished for being a tall skater.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree, but I think it's pretty funny that Rob Niedermayer gets 15 minutes in penalties for his part of the hit, which seemed pretty legit, and Pronger with the questionable part of the hit gets none. Great reffing there..."Well, Holmstrom got hurt, so I think we'll just randomly pick one of the guys that hit him and blame it on them."

at real speed it's almost impossible to tell who was the culprit. it certainly looks like pronger, who was ready to take holmstrom into the boards face first regardless of whether niedermayer was there.

Only for the first round. He was pretty much invisible in the Buffalo series. Same goes for the series against the Leafs in 2004.

I never thought much of Havlat as a playoff performer. Throw in his asking price and the fact he's injury-prone and I was glad to see him go.

Yeah, but to give 15 minutes in penalties without obviously seeing clearly what happened is pretty ridiculous. They arbitrarily put those penalties onto Niedermayer with no justification other it looked like something bad must have happened.

oh c'mon - you'd rather have it that way yourself too. someone deserved a 5 minute major. in fact a ducks fan was speaking to me last night and said it was niedermayer's fault (which it isn't, pronger was going to take him in anyway).

Chara was awful in the playoffs last year, too. I believe it came out after the Buffalo series that he was playing injured. And Bonk was with Montreal last year, though I agree that he never really performed in the playoffs when he was with Ottawa.
