Default Does Posada end up in the Hall?

I was looking at Posada's career numbers earlier today. I was surprised to find this out, but his numbers match a lot of the other catchers that are already in the Hall. He especially matches up w/ Bill Dickey although Dickey played almost 20 years. I've never really thought of him as a hall of famer, but his numbers suggest otherwise. What do you guys think?

I don't think he will - he was overshadowed on some great Yankee teams, and never had a 'great' season - okay, he's having a great season this year, but A-Rod's having a better one.

According to Prospectus, the average WARP3 score for catchers elected by the writers is 95.3. Posada has 80.

The average 7-year peak (non consecutive) is 59. Posada's is 62.2. With a couple more years, he could conceivably be above average by these numbers, even after you include Piazza (100 WARP, insane peak) and Pudge (126 WARP, equally insane peak).

Part of the reason Jorge can keep going strong is that he didn't start over 120 games until he was 28.

Posada's been one of the best hitting catchers every year since 2000.

He doesn't have long enough of a career, plus the voters don't understand any of the reasons that makes Posada great(Other than championships, which is just ironic), so it is very doubtful he makes the hall, though there is a good chance he will be deserving.

He has been the best catcher in baseball this millenium.

that will change once Mauer gets more seasons in

I have a feeling Posada will end up like Bert Blyleven where the voters are too dumb to realize he's a HOFer but the ppl that understand statistics consider him an easy selection

While I think he is great, Mauer has never had a season as great as Posada's current year.
