Default playing vs 3-bets

I've seen a few videos lately where the commentators mentioned that micro stakes player have trouble with 3bets and usually play them incorrectly. But then they don't elaborate !

I play 25 NL and I am one of these players.

So what is the correct way to play against suspected light 3-bettors ?

Last night at 25 NL I had a solid player to my left, roughly 20/17, - who 3 bet me several times - in position or out.

I'm at a loss as to what to do - I just folded every time (because they were bottom of my range for LP raises). But then I'm thinking - if I did pick up pocket Aces, if he was half smart, he'd know I had a hand once I called or 4-bet.

So what's the best course of action ?
1. start 4-betting light?
2. call his 3-bet - float and try a steal ? or
3. tighten up.
4. just leave the table. It's probably just plain bad to be to his right.

I think 1 and 2 could get quite costly if they fail.

How do good winning players discourage this or use it to their advantage ? I play roughly 18/15 and I wonder there has to be easier ways for him to win money at these tables than going after me - but who knows ? It seemed to work for him.

I suspect as I move up in limits, I will have to contend with this more often, so I might as well learn at 25 NL.

If you're playing 18/15 he probably has a legit 3betting hand most of the time and I'd just move on to the next hand. If he's habitually doing it then I'll start calling them IP with a wider range.

I start to call more in position and 4 bet light oop. Sometimes I will 4 bet light in position as well.

But then, thinking ahead. What is your thinking (I know it's situational) on the flop ? Similar to that of a normal raise ? If you call - you know he's going to c-bet. If you 4-bet - then you are pretty much obliged to c-bet ? Also if you 4-bet and he calls, you'd think he'd have a pretty good hand - no?
