Plus, Shockey can't catch.

And he's an ass. But he's still a top 10 or so TE in the league.

[/ QUOTE ]

Is he top ten or top three? Many would put him in either group but which is more accurate?

lol

sure he is.

oh wait he misses 4 games every year

and he drops balls all the time, runs routes bad

i don't even think he was top 10 in DPAR last year.

i'd put gonzalez, heap, dallas clark, gates, and either vernon davis or kellen winslow jr. over him.

u insult shockey for missing games for injuries though he plays through some nasty injuries cuz the guy is a WARRIOR and rarely misses games i duno where u get 4 a year that must be wrong....yet u have the nerve to say kellen winslow who happens to stay very healthy...oh wait vernon davis he stays healthy TOO!!!...You rather have a vernon davis an unproven vernon davis (sure filled with tons of potential and im sure hes gonna be a stud in 2 seasons or so over shockey right now if ur playing a big game right now when he hasnt proved anything yet). Dallas clark better then shockey is a joke, he is like when people thought marcus pollard was good, its getting carried by a stud offense and gets an occasional catch woopieeeee.

Sure gonzalez and gates are better...heap is close but ill give heap the edge, other then that hes still top 5?

shockey is 1 of the best blocking tight ends in the game and is very potent on the offensive end. You need 2 watch more.

tyler he is always playing less than 100%. he's always questionable on the injury report. i thought he'd missed more games in the last 3 years than he has, but if you look closer, there are far too many games where he catches 2 balls for 10 yards or sits out half the plays.

he was not a top 10 tight end by DPAR or DVOA last season.

Defense-adjusted Points Above Replacement and Defense-adjusted Value Over Average.

Some flukes beat him out this year and he'll probably be back up in both. Still, he's not as great as everyone thinks.

I can't believe I am going to agree with Triumph for a moment ... but Shockey is not a very good blocker either, although he has improved.
