Default Mini poker chips?

When I am going to visit people, I often wish I could bring enough chips for an impromptu game. But chips are so damn big. It's especially a problem if I'm flying out somewhere, or being driven by someone else.

Are there any good mini-chips on the market, and if so, any suggestions?

I think the ideal size would be the size of a quarter, and it'd be nice if they had some decent weight to them.

By the way, one time I had a 4-handed cash game at a bar using colored paper clips.

In this case, the reason we weren't using actual chips was because I was scared it would look too much like "real" poker and we'd get kicked out.

I'd suggest that you use something called 'coins'. They have some that are exactly the size of quarters for approximately $0.25 a piece available at many establishments. There are some smaller denominations available called 'nickels' and 'dimes', which are available for $0.05 and $0.10 respectively. You can even get into 'pennies' at $0.01 each. HTH. Shockingly each coin could easily be multiplied by some factor to meet the required stakes. If only coins factored easily into paper money, damn these Sickles and Knuts

Yeah thats a good idea at the end of the night you just buy everyones pennies for $1 each, and there nickles for $5 each, I'm sure thats going to work out real well for you.

As for using paper money. Paper money is a hassle to play poker with. Sure you can do it, but it slows up the game.

I am writing a program now on my graphical calculator wich keeps track of two stacksizes in a limit game (basically you just say if you raise, call or fold, while you deal the cards yourself. Pretty usefull if you want to play a quick game in an airplane or something.

Although you could also just play ginrummy
