Combo of OJ/or vitamin C pills if my throat is really sore, then Nyquil and vicks on my chest when i sleep. This has basically cured every cold i've had for the last 10 years.

Also i'm definitely in the take a hot shower, then soak in the tub camp.

I go bath then shower, 'cause bath isn't the cleanest idea, but it's hella relaxing.

I'm all about OJ, 7Up and blankets.

ya, bubble bath than shower, even if Id showered first Id still feel dirty comming out of a bath.

the only time I take baths is when Im sick or incredibly sore from working out (which doesnt happen too much anymore)

I never go to the doctor, I'm like you evidently.

Chicken soup, cola or ginger ale, tylenol, ritz crackers and perhaps some gouda, vodka +cranberry at nite if i can't sleep, half bottle of Nyquil if I really can't sleep.

DIY health care for a cold isn't really all that interesting. i mean i just try to do all the stuff that i probably forgot to do that got me sick in the first place, like stay hydrated, get lots of vitamins or take supplements, stay very clean, get lots of sleep.

when i opened this thread i was expecting stuff about improvising splints or something.

One of my old roommates tried to improvise a wart removal. I'm not going to go into the exact details, but I'll tell you that it involved condensed air, styrofoam, electrical tape, a lighter and a butcher's knife.

when I washed dishes at the restaurant when I was a kid I used to get warts, and Id just use some dry ice to burn them off, now they have home kits that you can use that do the same thing. otherwise ducttape or superglue takes care of about anything that I cant go to teh ER for.

What do you do when you're sick but don't want to go to the doctor?

[/ QUOTE ]

Like a doctor could do anything to help if you're just sick anyway...

I just rest and eat hot soup and stuff. Basically, I just wait it out and do whatever makes me feel better.

I usually just lie around sleeping and my girlfriend takes care of me, feeding me her homemade tortellini soup and grilled cheeses, rubbing my back, and letting me make all tv channel decisions.

This lasts like 24 hours, then she starts telling me to stop being such a pussy and get out of bed, and I usually oblige.
