Re: Gus Hansen working on a book
[ QUOTE ]
lol if 2+2 don't publish it it's their own fold. Being offered to publish any Gus Hansen book and not doing it is like being offered a lot of $ from a guy on the street and not taking it. furthermore, GH will sureley provide high quality material and deep insight thoughts. [/ QUOTE ] First off, we were not offered the book. We were sent a proposal from an agent, and these proposals usually go to lots of publishers at the same time. As for how good the book will be, I don't know. But Gus is certainly a terrific tournament player and a very smart person, so it could certainly be very good. MM |

please gus manager , tell gus to make it the highest quality so it can be published by two plus two [/ QUOTE ] Why on earth do people beg for Gus Hansen to go with 2+2? This is creepy stuff. Makes 2+2 look like a religious cult. |

He better finish the project with Magriel. If that book would be half as good as "Backgammon", we would have a winner. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry for the slight hijack, but is "Backgammon" worth reading if you're a total complete utter newbie novice wannabe? |

[/ QUOTE ] It was the best book for about 20 years after it was published in 1978 and is still a good book. However, Backgammon theory has moved on considerably in the last 10 years mainly due to neural net based computer programs that can play to the standard of a top professional. I would look at books published after 2000. |

Re: Gus Hansen working on a book
Don't think he'll have to worry about shifting copies if he carries on like he is in the ME.
