Default West Virginia -23 @ Connecticut

I really don't feel like I have any kind of read here. I tried to break it down, but I apparently have some sort of mental block on this game, so no in depth analysis from me on the only game of the day, today. I would like to hear other people's views though.

Or should I just bet the farm on the UConn moneyline, because of Rich Rodriguez's Tubervillesque comments on ESPN?

I'll be at this game. I'm gonna put a small bet on UCONN to cover +24, but that's just because I'm biased here.

GO UCONN!!!

Navy ran wild on UConn. I don't see how West Virginia doesn't do even better. I think WV can pick a number here, and I think they'll pick a number higher than 24.

I got an e-mail from Sportsbook.com and WVU is their free bet, or whatever that garbage was.

MyTurn likes WVA. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...3&fpart=all

WVA run the ball very well and UCONN can't stop the run. Plus WVA will run up the score if they can to improve their chances of getting into title game. The worry is that UCONN likes to run the ball, too so clock will keep running. Time may run out on WVA for cover. I think the number is awfully damn big for a road favorite in a conference game, so I'm gonna have to pass. I think it would be silly to bet on UCONN and pray for the clock to run out. And I think that the fact that WVA actually have legitimate incentive to run up the score is a big factor. I just can't bring myself to lay that many on the road. UCONN actually looked pretty decent against Army last week.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, and South Florida ran it prett darn well too. I can't really think of any reason why WVU shouldn't dominate... except that I just have this feeling. Now betting on UConn because of a feeling isn't my style, but I am willing to let it scare me out of a WVU bet. Plus, conference game, home dog, big spread, and my computer rankings only say WVU -18.5. I don't know, I feel like there are some arguments for betting both sides, but in both directions those arguments are semi-square and not too meaningful. I think that leaves me with no bet, but I'm still running it back and forth in my mind.

Well, at least for me, all of my "UConn is golden" arguments indicate the under to me, while all of my "WVU will pwn" thoughts tilt me toward the over. If I don't bet the spread I don't see how I can bet the total either. I really want to have money on this game, though, lol. Someone convince me there's a good bet in here somewhere!

I'm leaning towards WV in this one.
Will try to get back to you.

Or else WVA will come into the game assuming it's locked up, PLANNING to run up the score, and suddenly find themselves in a dogfight where covering is near impossible.

I think I'm going to bet on UConn here just to differentiate my picks this week from MyTurn's, I want to outdo him again, like I did the last two weeks

EDIT: I'm NOT counting this toward my OGotD picks, it's really more of a whimsy play.
