3)Texas- New QB issues but UT still has a well balanced team + great coaching staff (and good recruiting in '05).

We (Michigan) will either be 11-1 and playing in a BCs bowl or 8-4 and playing for the Toilet Bowl. My guess is the latter since we have a pretty tough road schedule (at ND, at PSU and at OSU). If everyone stays healthy (read Mike Hart), we could be decent.

So well said. I'm praying for 11-1, just like last year.

I think college football is going to be really wide open this year. IMO there are no clear cut teams that are head and shoulders above everyone.

I'm still having a hard time buying OSU at #1. I know everyone is high on Troy Smith and Ted Ginn, but I can't see Tressel opening it up and scoring 40 plus points a game. I think the loss of Santonio Holmes is going to be pretty big. I'm not sure Ted Ginn can handle being a #1 WR (he's a great athlete and a great PR though).

My top ten would include (in no specific order):

ND
OSU
LSU
Auburn
OU
UF
USC
Texas
WVU

My National Championship prediction: USC/ND winner vs. tOSU/Texas winner. I'll go ahead and predict tOSU over USC. Go Bucks!!!

Morelli's got a cannon, for sure, but he hasn't had much experience. Luckily, he has a slew of incredibly talented receivers to throw to.

Pozlusny, Connor and Shaw will be beasts again this year.

We lost our entire secondary, which will definitely hurt, but we have some young talent. That will most definitely be our weak point.

Nice to see everyone writing them off, though. Last year must have been a fluke.

PSU has a tough schedule. Has to go to ND and to OSU in the first 4 games with a new o-line and QB. We get Michigan at home at night, but they've had our number for the past few years.

IMO the biggest area of concern for PSU is on the d-line. Sure we get Jay Alford and Ed Johnson (started in '04, suspended for '05) back but we're pretty thin at DE. Losing Tamba Hali and Matt Rice will hurt bad.

The secondary is pretty deep, but very young. I'm not too concerned about them if we can generate a decent pass rush. We've got some good athletes back there.
