Default \"geo-cities\" in the profanity filter?

I just noticed this. Was this deliberate? Just curious.

I came to notice this when trying to post a pic that was from a trusted source hosted at geo[/i]cities. Pic wouldn't post because that term/site is [censored] for some reason. Ryan rightfully removed "dumbass" from the filter so I thought maybe that was a weird oversight too.

Yeah, there was an extremely determined spammer a while back. He'd hit 30 forums in the span of about a minute and do this a few times a day. IP bans were ineffective. Basically, we started adding the domain names of the things he was linking to the profanity filter until he gave up. He ran out of domain names registered to him, so he started using geo-cities. We should probably take it out, but you're the first one to complain, and it's been in the filter for at least a couple months now.

Wookie,

Thanks. I figured there was a reason but didn't know what it was. I also searched this forum using that word to try to piece it together but it was of no help.

Anyway, it wasn't a complaint as much as a curiosity. None of the tens of thousands of unique snowflakes visiting this site seem to care either or it would have come up by now.

Yeah, it's probably safe to remove this from the filter. I'll take care of it now.
