Jay picked me as one of the dudes he's mentoring for free which I assume is in part because I can make the website w/ forum that he wants for his group of students.

2p2 pokerword/concept for November: polarize.

[/ QUOTE ]

1. To separate or accumulate positive and negative electric charges in two distinct regions. Polarized objects have an electric dipole moment and will undergo torque when placed in an external electric field.
2. To magnetize a substance so that it has the properties of a magnetic dipole, such as having a north and south pole.
3. To cause the electrical and magnetic fields associated with electromagnetic waves, especially light, to vibrate in a particular direction or path. The transverse electric and magnetic waves always vibrate at right angles to each other, but in ordinary unpolarized light sources, the direction of polarization of each wave is randomly distributed. Light can be polarized by reflection, and by passing through certain materials.

Wtf does this have to do w/ hand ranges???

[/ QUOTE ]

Basically means either very strong or very weak.

So, like when a villian makes a fishy bet on a board where he can only have air or a monster as an example??? His range is then polarized ?

polarize = one distinct hand or another on a betting street (ie. most often nuts or bluff). assume you bet the river and are raised against tricky opponent on the river on K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]- he's probably not raising there with AK or even sometimes stuff like 22. (and other medium strength hands, it obv depends ofc). his range is 'polarized' between either a very strong hand (ie. 45) or a flush OR a bluff (sometimes stuff like TT or whatever).

I'm gonna use "polarized" at my next live 1/2 game and watch everyone look at me like I'm an a-hole.
