what about donking the flop hoping that BU will raise and do the protection for us?

[/ QUOTE ]

What hands do you think he is raising?

The usual problem with this kind of thought proces is that when he does raise and "protect" your hand for you - well then you dont have a hand to protect as you are drawing to 2 outs vs his overpair and you dont want the other guys to fold if you want to stay in the pot.

Donking is terrible unless you have a read that he will raise AK, AQ etc.

Why not donking the turn and fold to a raise? I don't think this Bu raise with AK with this board 4way.

1) We avoid a free card when we are ahead.
2) We fold a 2 outer, if he raises with an overpair (which is not 100% sure), but we save a bet on the river very often.
3)BB and SB are more likely to fold overcards with a donk imo.

I'm pretty much looking to showdown my hand here in a large pot close to 100% of the time (unless SB suddenly wakes up and raises somewhere). I hate the idea of putting three bets in on the turn, so I'm just calling there. Not saying this is the optimal way to play this hand, but I really want to get to showdown here, and make it fairly cheap.

A blank river could be a donk. Not sure.
