Default Which desktop recording software?

Question for anyone who has recorded themselves play.

What software did you use and how did you keep the filesize small with quality good enough to watch?

Something like the Cardrunners videos.

Bump. I've searched and will search some more. I'll post if I find the answer, but if you know it or where to find it any help appreciated.

I've viewed both Donkit.com videos and Card Runners. At Card Runners they mention Camtasia software a lot on the forums. Here is the link. I've tried it on the free trial and it's pretty easy to get working etc. Good luck with it.

CamStudio is/was open software that records screen.

Raw avi file is huge but when you convert to flash, much smaller.

Not sure if this fits the bill?

VirtualDub is absolutely fantastic for video processing / recompressing etc. and is Free

You probably want XVID codec also if you don't have it installed already (decent quality, small file size). Also Free.

dave.

EDIT: fixed links
