Default job listing dilemma

For background, I just graduated Cornell and am taking a year off before hopefully going to medical school. I came across a job posting on sciencejobs.com for a research position in a cancer lab and within the description they ask for me to send a cover letter, resume, and "current and future research interests (max 1 page)." Does anyone know what they want for this last thing? Has anyone done something similar in the past? Thanks.

I would basically include that you are planning on medical school, what field you hope to get into, etc

Maxx,

I'd take that very much at face value. Write about any summer jobs or research projects that you did during your education as well as things you might be interested in focusing on in doing research on in the future. If I were you, I would be likely to tell them about my specific interest in researching some specific cancer-related stuff, quite possibly stuff that is related to what they focus their research efforts on.
