Default A hand that aejones played

Hi all,

aejones is still banned, but he's been playing quite a bit lately (and he's sent me some interesting hands, I might add) and asked me to post this one.

Hero is playing 42/33ish preflop, and aggressively postflop. Villian in this hand is 2+2er Xorbie. From what I know, ae has little respect of his game, and in general, doesn't think he's good enough to be winning at the levels he's playing at (small sample size maybe?). Xorbie is, however, a solidish, thinking player who has run at about 26/18 preflop over just under 1000 hands.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $10 BB (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($2405)
UTG ($1055)
Hero ($2296.25)
SB ($1020)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises to $30, SB raises to $110, 1 fold, Hero calls $80.

Flop: ($230) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $120, Hero calls $120.

Turn: ($470) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($470) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

500 for villian to call.

if you think you have the best hand, just call, otherwise don't do this.

LOL.

True, obviously he thinks his chances of having the best hand are slim. If xorbie has air, he folds which is the same as just calling.

AE, erm I mean FS, I think this board is interesting to sell this bluff. Is he supposed to put you on a floated queen? Does he think you check turn with a back door flush draw?

i really dont like the preflop call. xorbie plays pretty tight vs steals from sb and his re-raising range has j7o pretty crushed, and stacks arent that deep to justify it imo.

and with ur laggy image vs a solid player like xorbie i think u will in general have a hard time finding the fold equity postflop to make up for the calling mistake.

I'll comment later so as not to prevent any sort of interesting debate.

First post I've seen with a fake nose, mustache and glasses. Reminds me of Burt on that old TV show Soap. He'd snap his fingers and say he disappeared.

I'd fold pf or to the re-steal. Even 4 handed, J7o is beyond garbage.

You don't say.

Not interested in preflop comments I would guess, but I think it's just bad.

River is interesting, I have a hard time putting you (ehrm I mean aejones) on anything but some sort of float that runnered a flush. So I think Xorbie calls with a lot of stuff here. I don't love any part of this hand really, but ultimatly it depends on how willing Xorbie is to make big calls vs you.

I think there's a chance xorbie calls with worse, but obv this is intended to be a bluff.
