how much time do we think we have?

Well, I've been married for 3 months now, so I'm guessing about 6-9 more months of fun.

If you know what I mean.

Seriously though. Either the senate will approve it by around September and the president will sign it soon after that. There is also a delay before it is enforced, but I'd imagine this isn't longer than 1-2 months. Or, the senate either rejects it or never considers it, and it is off the table.

So basically, either we'll have until Sept-Dec, or forever. And by forever I mean until there are more conservative crotchety old men than liberal upstarts.
