I have been playing NLHE(25-100) for 2 years now but its starting to bore me a little som im trying some other games and i really like 7 Card Stud - and find that there are many fishes on lowstakes so i wanna get better...

I like that you aren't getting fancy with your big hands, especially as you are learning.

In the first hand, I may just fold it unless you notice the raiser is doing it a lot. You are looking to connect on 4th with a hand like that or you have to fold....I want to do that as cheap as possible.

One hand per thread, please. If you get a lot of responses, it will sometimes be hard to tell which hand people are talking about.

First hand, I'd probably fold third. High bags aren't that great in this game. AJ is a decent starter in hold'em. You've got a three-card flop in which you can hope to snag a pair, and that pair will be enough to win a goodly percentage of the time. In stud, you pay for the cards one at a time, and one or two pair win less frequently.

When the other guy raises your open Aces, he's saying he's got you beaten. He should have a set. Now a lot of players don't have what they should, but your three-bet was overly optimistic. Since he shut down and eventually folded, I guess you had some kind of read or something. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Second hand: I wouldn't have raised sixth. The guy with open trips should be full. Guess he wasn't. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

You played the third hand well, I think. If the other guy is as foolish as your opponents on the first two hands, you might put in one more raise.

There are guys who have been living in America their whole lives whose written English is a lot worse than yours.

Okay so i shouldnt get so happy with 3 high cards as startinghand? unless none of them are dead?
