Its not for value its not a bluff and its not a value bluff.
Interesting thought I had about a play to make in mtts. I'm not sure if its good but its just something to think about.
We are both about 80k deep blinds are 1.5k/3k/250 (I might have the level wrong but something like that) I had a hand in the WCOOP ME UTG+1 raises to 8k 8 handed I call with 99 UTG+2 everyone else folds. The flop is KKx rainbow. He bets 12k into (22k) I call. The turn is a blank he checks. Now even though its not for value and its not a bluff. Can I shove here? I have like pot left. Its a spot where there's no real purpose to the bet but maybe I can shove just because I have the best hand very often and don't want to give him a free card considering how big the pot is already If I am shoving the turn would shoving the flop over his cbet be better? Should I just call flop check turn check river? |

FWIW he mighttttttt fold TT-QQ.
Shoving turn is very different from shoving flop because turn check give you a lot of info. |

If I am shoving the turn would shoving the flop over his cbet be better? [/ QUOTE ] No. You have now gained more information because he checked the turn. Sometimes he hit the X on the flop and will call a small turn valuebet by us after checking. Tho he cant really have anything with 7 or so in it that he raises UTG. (Forgot its lol donkament full ring holdem) Purpose of shoving the turn is to fold out TT/JJ which is so thin that its a lot better to just check it down. Folding the flop isnt criminal either. This is a lot harder board to valuecall flop-bluff turn than Axx or any non-paired board. If you shove turn you will still get occasionally looked up by AA/QQ/JJ. And 99 isnt in a great shape against standard UTG+1 open range without spiking a set. |
