29. N.Y. Jets (from DEN) Manny Lawson, DE/OLB NC State

[/ QUOTE ]

I haven't been following the draft news much. Is Manny Lawson really going to fall this far? Did he have a horrible combine or something?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lawson has moved up this much. Are you thinking of Mario Williams, the *other* NCS DE? He's prob the #2 pick.

13. Baltimore Haloti Ngata, DT Oregon
14. Philadelphia Winston Justice, T USC

[/ QUOTE ]

i sort of disagree with all of these mid first round picks

[/ QUOTE ]

Why not?

Is Ngata a bad fit in Baltimore?

Runyon and Tra Thomas aren't getting any younger. Although Philly could probably use a WR.

[/ QUOTE ]

ngata would be a good fit in Baltimore, but I think they have more important needs to fill.

he said leinart had "late first, early second potential". wow, just wow.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's awesome.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe he was referring to where he thought he should be drafted not the actual spot he will be drafted in.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hodge said this and he meant that all QBs this year had at best 2nd round talent.

[/ QUOTE ]

What the hell does this even mean?

prob not that extreme, but I don't think Leinart is the 3rd best player in the draft and he was locked in at #2 till NO picked up Brees. I'm not sold that Leinart has NFL accuracy and arm strength, VY could very easily be playing WR in 2yrs, and Cutler's status skyrocketed very late in the year, so its quite possible that he is right

The problem with these whole mock drafts is that every year somebody in the mid/top first round makes a boneheaded pick (pre 2001 see bengals, cincinnati--if you like recent results you can usually refer to saints, new orleans and lions, detroit) and that makes someone available later that shouldn't have been which usually ends up changing almost the entire rest of the draft. You could run the first round five different times on five different days and I'm entirely convinced you'd have 5 different picks on all five.

what other needs, AND who gives value filing that need at 13? If you say Justice I'll puke, he's riding the USC workout day hype. Be wary of the late ascenders, why didn't their on field play rate them high in the first place? OL is DEEP in this draft, so why waste on 13 what is available at 44(o'callahan, scott, mcneill). This team needs a big plugger
BTW, Ozzie's philosophy is best player available, Kemo left, cody comes back and polley is yet unsigned, suggs has speed to play OLB. Keep in mind the ravens were awarded 4 compensatory picks, so they have 10 total picks and are one of the better teams drafting teams in the nfl. They are also not afarid to make moves and have ammo.

FYI, do you know where Kiper lives? He has good contacts with his hometown team.

I'm taking a class with Nick Mangold now. I have not yet asked him wtf he's doing not, you know, ensuring that he gets drafted as high as possible. I don't envision asking him this question at all.

Also, I'd be surprised if the Browns let Ngata by them.

WTF is Donte Whitner doing in the mid first round?
