Default Hotels a bit away from foxwoods

I checked out hotels on hotels.com for Ledyard, CT and they are all quite pricey for tomorrow night. Im driving from NYC so I was hoping to find a hotel somewhere in the area, Id be willing to drive some, so that I can stay the night and then play again on Sunday afternoon/evening and then drive home. Obviously Im looking for price. Thanks.

Check if the Marriott in New London has a discounted weekend package. It is right off the highway and a short drive to Foxwoods. I have stayed there a few times and never had a problem.

If you want cheap, sketchy motels you could try groton, ct. It's about 20min away down rte 212. There's Super 8, Howard Johnson's, Knights Inn, etc.

Motel 6 in... East Lyme? New London? I forget exactly, type in New London.

It's still expensive for a M6 but cheaper than anything else I've found there, and about 20 minutes down I-395 to the first or second exit on I-95 after the merge.

Hilltop Inn FTW. They prorate the rate some if you show up late. It goes down a ton if you show up past 5am

Oooh, wow, I wish I had known about this when I played a lot at FW. One of my dumb entrepreneurial ideas is hotels-by-the-hour that aren't like those more infamous hourly hotels, located near casinos. If anyone knows of anything like that in Tunica, I'd be most grateful.

I stayed there one night and it was pretty bad. The place (hallways, parking lot, entrance) was dirty, there were constant sounds of water pumps or some crap going all night and loud construction started very early in the morning.
