Default Should I feel bad for running over a possum?

I was driving home from the casino when I saw in the road a possum.

I live outside the city where our garbage cans have to be kept inside our garage because they and the raccoons get into them if you don't.

Almost on instinct, I sped up and drilled the little guy. Bump Bump. Both tires.

Then I turned around, to make sure he was out, and saw about five other sets of eyes, a whole family/group/pack of possums were in the road all checking out their dying friend.

As my headlights approached they all scattered except for the flat one. I then felt a little bad. Like all the other possums had lost a friend, and they cared enough about him to stop by just seconds after I squished him, to say goodbye as he lay dying.

Should I have doneit, and should I feel like a jerk now for driving over him on purpose?

He looks pretty unscathed for just getting run over.

Yes, you are definitely a jerk for doing this imo. Makes me quite sick to think about it.

Its better to slow down and watch it feign death, then run it over.

No, I didn't take a pic of the actual possum for you guys, but he was still alive after my first drive-by. (just sorta crawling on his front two legs like that dog the old pedophile man owns on The Family Guy)

I did a courtesy run-over for him on the second time by to put him out of his misery.

There was a possum outside a bar I was at last night trying to get at my pizza so I poured a jack and coke right in his eyes. More humane than killing imo.

Wow. You're lucky you lived to tell about this. Possums are badass, you could have been mamed. Jack & cokes are no defense for an angry possum. Or coon.

You people are sick. I accidentally hit a squirrel the other day and felt terrible. I would have jacked you in the face if I was in the passenger seat.

Kinda misleading title. I wouldn't feel that bad about running over a possum on accident. I would feel bad about running over one on purpose though.

Only a matter of time 'till you move up to the homeless, hitch hikers, prostitutes. One day you're running over possums on purpose, six months later, BAM - you're Ted Bundy.
