Why canīt a loose shortie like him have like...any pair here? Just because he bets big? I would guess that you are behind more often than not...

Anyway,

I pushed and he called with QJo. I felt pretty confident he had no pair.

So this whole thread is results-oriented?

I mean, if you're fairly confident at the table that he has no pair, then good for you and nice read, but there's no way that we're going to make the same read reading this in a thread and this whole exercise is pointless. From an academic perspective, you are destroyed in this spot a vast majority of the time, because droolers play underpairs or 76 or whatever the same way.

To see how people would range him. But people prefer to say what they would do instead of why.

I would fold b/c I am destroyed by his range.........unless......... I had a read that the player would do this with over cards.

You know that betting if you miraculously know he has QJ c/c is no better than just cbetting him out right...

100% of 50 = 50
63% of 130 - 37% *80 = 52

Basically instead of cbetting you did something super fancy pants that required a much much more accurate read and gained basically nothing.

And you got the best case scenario. A bet/call would likely get rid of low pairs that crush you when you c/c.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 48.133% 47.04% 01.09% 503424 11693.00 { AsKs }
Hand 1: 51.867% 50.77% 01.09% 543380 11693.00 { random }

lol

tarath, read the pf action... utg limp/min rr/checked flop... i dont care for a flop bet

nielso put in like ANY range for BTN... this is a very meh push. that said i do it in some similar spots and see a huge huge range of hands from air to two pair... it is very thin though

I looks like me and utg don't have anything, so to me it really looks like he is trying to buy the pot.

Why would he bet so much if he had a pair? I mean, he has very little behind so it's not like he needs to bet for protection or anything.

this is what i always think and i get shown T2o

and receive a lecture about how it's a world champion hand

zzz fold

QFT QFT QFT, I have thought like this wayyyy too much and this always happen. This guy happens to have been betting pot to steal, but lots of people just bet pot without a good reason with some pair. I definatly fold cause you are either getting the money in as a significant dog (most of the time) or you get it in as a slight favour (not very often).

Reads make a big difference here, it is very profitable knowing that someone tries to steal by potting.

Thread summary- Nielsio mashes buttons, gets lucky, and claims he had a read.

The other 20 times this didn't work out, he didn't post it on 2+2

lol this kinda of logic says bluffing the river is always wrong with 22 on an 10,10,9,9,A board. I have zero equity against a random hand lol.

The random hand doesn't always call, You actually have a lot of FE. The pf action makes a bluff here even scarier. If anything your argument says anything it says why a c/c is so bad. Even if Nielso read was the the villian had ATC calling here is much worse than betting if you think you can bluff out the bottom chunk of his range.
