If they end up having to devote a ton of cap space to some player who is a year or two away from making a major impact in the league then I think it is good for everyone else.

[/ QUOTE ]
Already good teams don't (and shouldn't) draft this way. See Addai, Joseph.

Jake Long?

[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly.

[/ QUOTE ]
Jake Long won't drop to this pick.

San Francisco will probably be a dog in every one of those games.

They might very well be, but they are still going to win a few of them. If they're going to go bottom 5, this game at Atlanta is a must lose.

It was a draft day deal.

San Francisco 49ers: Acquire pick No. 28 (selected OT Joe Staley).
New England Patriots: Acquire pick No. 110 and a first-round pick in 2008.

Their toughest remaining game is the Browns. They're most likely going to be 7-9/6-10.

[/ QUOTE ]
The niners are horrible. No way they go 5-4 or even 4-5 for the rest of the season. THEY CANT SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. They are easily 0-7 right now. The Atlanta game this week is the low point I've had as a niners fan. I really don't even care about the outcome. I can't remember feeling like that before about the niners.

So they'll be a dog the rest of the way but still win 4 games?

You can nitpick it to death but point of my statement is that this will not be a top 5 pick. If you want to bet on that then speak up.

All I'm trying to do is make sense of what you're saying. Do you think they'll finish 6-10?
