I don't know, but I assume I am? A little more background information on me. My parents are fairly wealthy but will not give me any money as I have blown through over 30,000 dollars of their money meant for college on drugs (mainly oxy) and alcohol. My credit rating is probably fairly bad so I'm sure that doesn't help with getting a loan and I doubt I could get a co-signer (if that's even possible?). Second, your credit rating has nothing to do with federal student loans, as they do not even check that. Go talk to the financial adviser at your school and get the scoop on student loans. Your parents' wealth might create a problem depending on how old you are, but this doesn't apply for Stafford unsubsidized loans, if i recall correctly. Third, would your parents be willing to pay the tuition directly for you? If they feel that they are not handing you a bunch of money directly, they might be willing to help with tuition (i.e. send a check to the school themselves)?
