Yeah, I know what you mean.

I prefer guys who sit quietly, observe everything I do, play tight, aggressive, tricky poker and are very hard to get money from. When I'm at a table full of those guys, I'm in heaven.

You need to move up limits so you don't run into these people.

I play 2/5 and I am paying a decent amount of my money through college ... so I dont right now have the BR to move up.... but i've found this type of player at the 5/10 games when I've taken a shot.

He's being sarcastic. What you just described happens all over every poker room.

When I first played I remained quiet at the table. You know, the silent assassin, because that's what they tell you to be like in movies and books. Those who know most, say least.

Then I realized it rarely matters what I say. I don't talk strategy much because I'm not likely to get an interesting response, but if someone asks me what I was thinking, if they aren't very good and I like them, I'll tell them. The result is that the bad players start playing super-tricky against me and also they peel with crap, which is good because at a good table I play straightforward for 1 bet, and I don't fold (limit).

I don't use the word donkey though. A pet peeve of mine is when people dehumanize other people like that.

the best is when players trickle over from a daily tournament and every single time the guy who knocked them out is the donkey who caught the 2 outer

Your sittin in a live cash game... and ur at a table full of like real goofy supernits and they are always talking about someones play to 1-3 other players seated next to them and using the word "donkey" wayyyy too much during their conversations... cuz to me it makes them look even more like one and also a noob... and then the worst part is when they start discussing the way they played their own hands against each other like "yea man i raised you on that river cuz i knew you didnt have the flush and my pair of 8's were good so thats why i check raised all in ..." I don't know how to put it in words but it just like when you see these guys at the table you just want to smash them in the face with the serving saucer from a waitress... anyone else catch my drift about what im talkin about? it just really annoys me and I try my best not to say anything but sometimes i just tell them to shut the hell up.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yea but it is unreal how much information live players will give you on how they play, its better than Poker Ace Hud!! Even if you have never played with someone it is easy to adapt to their style once they start talking about how they play hands. I never discuss strategy and if forced to I always give disinformation. The other day a guy asked me if I would ever bet out the nut flush draw. I said, "No way, why waste money? I'll just try to get a free card and call if someone bets to see if I can hit." He nodded knowingly. LOL!

It irks me when people can't spell irk.

You've got some anger issues, OP. I can't imagine this is any good for your game.
