Default Theory of Poker or Full Tilt Tournament book?

I havent read a poker book since HOH2, since reading HOH 1 and 2 my game has really improved, I had also read SS1. Anyways, I think it's time to get another book or 2. Once I get enough FPPs on Stars I'm getting the Mathematics of Poker since it's on the cheap side. However, I would like to get a book while I wait but cannot decide between TOP or the new Full Tilt Book.
I play basically all NLHE, playing $5 STT on Stars. Every now and then I play some of the small buy-in MTT.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd go with the Full Tilt book.

Actually maybe you should wait a month or two for the new 2+2 SnG book to come out...

TOP all the way. I think it's the most important poker book I've read, so I'd recommend it anyway, but after reading the first few chapters in the Full Tilt book I'm not all that impressed (though I'm one of the few who feels that way apparently).

I think you TOP people are just staying TOP because it's a better book overall but are not consdiering that 3/4th of it would not be very applicable for the OP playing NL SnGs.

[/ QUOTE ]I think learning sound poker theory is good for poker in general and it will server OP better in the long run. Even if a lot of the topics covered don't present themselves in STTs, it still addresses the fundamental way you think about the game, and I think that will help in STTs or any other form of poker that OP chooses to pursue.

i agree that TOP is the bible (#1 book ever by far).... but hasn't every thing in it been incorporated into every book since...

and forgot to look, but apparently the OP's question was about SNG's???.... the full tilt book looks excellent for that.

It's apples and oranges.

Full Tilt's book seems better suited for your situation. But the Theory of Poker is a must-have book as well.

I'd say go Full Tilt 1st, and then go with Theory.
