Default Multitabling bankroll

I know that for for NLHE the standard bankroll is 20x buy in's. But does this change if you are multitabling? If you are playing four tables should you have 80x buy-ins? Input is appreciated. Thanks

no, multi tabling has nothing to do with your bankroll ... even 12 tabling will allow you do reload up to 8 times and if you are reloading 8 times you should really move down lol

I always use 30 BIs if I multitable, because the psychological effect of fe losing 1 BI on each table is putting me on tilt.

might be different for others though

I really think it does effect (affect? I don't even know anymore) it, a downswing for a multitabler is arguably going to be much worse than someone who's playing one table and only getting around 100 hands in per hour

the advice is generally that no extra br is needed....but tilt when multitabling can be a killer....

I'm following a 30 BI plan also. I feel so safe.

Lots of people say that more bankroll is needed for multitabling. Keep this thread near the top and I am sure you will get some answers. I would like to hear some of the calculations to obtain numbers or if they are just to keep the player feeling secure within their limits...

A slight bit of theory as to why you should have a larger bankroll when multitabling:

As most know you multitable to increase your hourly earnings. The optimal amount of tables is the amount that yields the highest hourly rate. However, playing more tables generally decreases your winrate (bb/100) for obvious reasons.

Now players with lower winrates are proven to encounter greater swongs than those with higher winrates generally. Therefore by increasing the number of tables it reduces the winrate, thus encountering more variance. To cope with the greater variance you may need a bigger cushion (25/30buyins+).
