Leinart or Smith?
Settle an argument for me: who would you rather have on YOUR team: Matt Leinart or Alex Smith? (EDIT: I'm asking which QB is more talented, not who will be more successful because of the team they play for)

Re: Leinart or Smith?
Leinart and it's not even close.
He's got more powerful weapons than SF does. Plus, he has proven more effective than Alex Smith in the past. Alex Smith hasn't even been drafted in most of the fantasy leagues I've been in. |

[/ QUOTE ] Forget their fantasy rankings and the team they play for, I'm just asking which QB you would want on YOUR favorite team. I'm curious what people think about their abilities, not the teams they play for. |

I think Smith has potential but I'd want Leinart on my team.

Re: Leinart or Smith?
This reminds me of the NBA debate whether Chris Paul or Deron Williams are better. After their first season, everyone was saying Williams is a bust, and Paul a superstar. After the playoffs last year, everyone is jumping on the Williams bandwagon. The truth in that debate, as well as this one is that it is still much too early to tell who will be the better pro.

Re: Leinart or Smith?
Just from watching a good number of his games, I really don't like Leinart's arm. I think the college seasoning helps him be good now, and in the right system he'll be fine, but I think his top end is pretty meh realitve to the promise of others.
I don't know enough about Smith to say anything, but his track record doesn't blow me away. I'd like to have seen him face better comptetition in college before throwing a #1 at him. |
