are you female? is that what you are saying or just being coy.

21 was my second try at it, if it is not good, then giving you action on much of anything fitness wise would be tough.

i think you are in much, much better shape than you think.
less than 1% of the population (much less probably) could do a 20 round cindy.

i like to gamble too....we will find something!

Yes, coy. Sorry if it is annoying. I'm on the other side of 40, which is fairly old for these parts. I think 21 is a good number on Cindy. I'm not trying to trivialize your good work. I've done it twice, last time was 2 months ago. Did it 22 the first and 23 the second-- so we are very close.

I've been excitedly awaiting your trip report about "storming through" Linda-- I always considered that phrase a bit of crossfit humour and "storming through" == finishing (at any loads).

sorry for the delay.

report: did a bit of warm up cardio and full crossfit warmup, then set up linda modified to lighten the loads quite a bit as it was my first trip through.

weight 165

deadlift 185
bench 135
full squat clean 95

did it in 16:10.

hurt, but did almost all sets unbroken. will obviously have to do full weight amounts next time!?!

didn't seem that much harder than some of the other girls, fran seems to torture me quite a bit, lol.

shemp how is your overhead squatting?
that might make for a good contest/prop bet if we are in the same league. maybe 95lbs for unbroken reps??

love to hear your personal feedback on this w.o.d.

thanks. J.

16:10 is excellent even with a barbell, imo. If any of the lifts is hard for someone at full intensity, that someone will be screwed. And even if none of them are hard, the cumulative 110 pulls from the floor is a lot. Likewise 55 cleans (even pseudo or power in my case) will get your heart pumping.

My life total of OHS is a barbell run at Nancy, so not a chance. I have PVC pipe laying around and I'm thinking I might dedicate September or October to the OHS, but we'll see. I do want to get to 15 bw ohs, and I'm curious how long it will take to get there if I dedicate myself to it. Several months? A year? More?

great points.

i don't care about bw ohs for some reason, probably because it is a bit cumbersome getting the weight up there and i don't have bumpers........so i started trying to improve my 95lb ohs. it is a slow process, but i would love to be able to do 50 reps unbroken, i discussed this with smileyeh, i think it would be a great goal, but is a ways off.

have you seen nicole carroll's 15 bw ohs video on crossfit?
omg, omg.
my wife teases me about the "crush" i have on that woman.
probably get to see her in action next month at a crossfit certification in portland.

keep me posted on things. L-pullups today, god they are brutal, i need more core strength for sure.

thanks for the interest. J.

anything over 16 or so is a pretty good cindy score, over 20 is really good. if someone claims to do more than 20 rounds id like to see their form because each round should take about 40-45 seconds, even longer as you fatigue. there are definitely people that can do 25+ but its not very common

I think any good effort produces a good score, 4 rounds with assisted pull-ups and knee push-ups, whatever-- and I don't know how common this or that is, but a quick glance at the most recent Cindy front-page suggests that 20+ is roughly top quartile or quintile of people who post their results. Not earth shattering. There are also folks who do well over 30.

And each round need not take 40+ seconds as each rep of each exercise can have a sub 1 sec cycle time. Finally, managing fatigue so that the round to round cycle time is held fairly steady is the key to the drill.

If you are willing to wager on someone who claims to do 20+ rounds with an independent rep counter, this is the thread for you!

They do do a great job of marketing. The Nasty Girls video is "fitness porn." Nicole, maybe goes out too hard on the muscle-ups, maybe her body is not 100% cooperating, whatever the reason, she turns green by the end of the first round. And now she has to gut out the next 2 rounds, and by the end of it she is a crying puddle of poop. Such an awesome effort. I'd love to know what part of their demographic is white males between 32-45 who weigh between 160 and 175 pounds.

I'm still up for a Cindy or Linda challenge. Other possibilities include maybe something like the 3 events they used at their games, either scored like them or best out of 3? Also, we might go through the year's triplet of WODs, eliminating triplets until down to 52. Then draw a card on the day of the challenge to select one of them and go best of 3 or develop a scoring system based on results posted to the first page for the respective WOD.

i dont doubt that you can do over 20 rounds, i was just pointing out that the average person isnt going to be able to do that without some work. i did 18 the first time i tried it and im 6 2 225(bodyweight stuff is alot easier for smaller guys!). im pretty sure i could get 20-22 next time. i did 15 with a 20 lb weight vest on, after about the 7th cycle i couldnt get all 5 pull ups unbroken, so that cost me some time, that was a pain in the ass.

i might give you action on a 26+ cindy prop bet
