Why bet the turn? I think we get more value and protect against getting stacked by the A high flush by checking behind on the turn. This will induce bluffs from non-spade hands as well.

Definitely check the turn.

If you bet and he has the [As] he either:

- Raises and you fold, or
- Calls and you don't know wtf to do on river

If he has a lower spade he's as likely to call river as he is turn, but he's not calling two streets anyway.

And if he has no spade he's just folding. Might aswell check and let him bluff.

If you categorise his possible holding as [As], [Xs], and no spade, checking is better for every single one.

ya indeed, this is typical example of me mindlesly doing something, without considering other options . Check turn and check call river is best here indeed. But from 2 previous hand he made some very bad turn calls in big pots so i figured betting was best here.

k from what iv seen so far from hand the few hands after this hand I dont regret the way i played it. Hed stack off with Q hi flush and maybe even J high flush. And he could make a retraded bluff here so its not -ev, but checking is still better tho
