Default NL200 - TPGK against tricky LAG river check-raise

NL200 4-handed

Hero has $210, Villain covers. He multi-tables anywhere from 1/2 to 5/10 and pretty much destroys anyone in his path, but I can't avoid him on a small site. He respects my 3-bets preflop usually, but stacked me earlier when I raised pf with TT and he smoothed, flop came 844, I potted he called, turn was a 2, I bet 3/4 pot and he set me in for basically a minraise, I called and he showed AA. He's made plays on the river before against weaker opponents with air but has never pulled anything like that versus me that I recall.

I check turn to either avoid a c/r from a 9x (he doesn't lead turn too often with monsters) or to induce a river bet from Ace-high. I felt he'd look me up light on the river with any pair and Ace-high, but it was sort of a blockbet I guess too so that I can get away if I bet 3/4 pot and he shoves or something wacky. Did I just horribly misplay this? Fold river?

Hero raises to $7 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2 folds, Villain calls.

Flop 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villain checks, Hero bets $11, Villain calls.

Turn Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain checks, Hero checks

River 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain checks, Hero bets $22, Villain raises to $85, Hero?

Wow, I don't see myself ever folding here because our hand looks so much like air. He would probably lead anything he wanted to get value from, but expecting you to bet the river after showing so little strength is not standard. You might see 33 sometimes, but I think you see hearts or maybe 44-66 trying to get you off 88 or something.

Yeah, I'd feel he'd lead a 9 here. I called and he had 77.

Yep, I call the river. He has a made hand turned bluff (ie. 88 or whatever) so often IMO. Or missed hearts.
