Rotoworld reporting Bulls and Lakers actually talking Kobe.

Not willing to give up Deng or Hinrich in any deal. Would be willing to move TT, Noah and Gordon though. Doubt the Lakers would take that, but teams that feel forced to take the "best offer" sometimes do wierd things, and I'm guessing that's at least in the ballpark of any other teams best offer.

Clark...

Celtics gave Jefferson, Gomes, and two future firsts for a player who is at least as Kobe (IMO KG is slightly better, but for the sake of argument let's say they are equals).

The Lakers are going to use that as a benchmark, and Jefferson is better than Deng, so the Bulls are retarded if they think some combo of Nocioni, Thomas, Noah, Duhon, and Picks will work.

Some of the Bulls (LOL) "big three" may need to be broken up.

Boston overpaid. That doesn't mean the Bulls should.

Do you really believe this?

Big Al is a max player within a year anyway, so it's not like Minne got a bargain of a contract or anything.

Very much disagree. Nearly the only way to win a title in the NBA is to have a top 10 quality player. When you can get one, you should be willing to give up a ton.

Big Al is a max player 10 years younger than KG. Green, while I think he's a tool, certainly has potential. 2 firsts have value (though it's marginal given Boston's expected pick range, but every now and then one drafts a Rondo in that range).

Let me put it like this: if Ainge played hardball, I don't see how Minnesota wouldn't have been literally forced to take the same deal sans picks and sans Gomes (who is worthless to Minny, but would've been very valuable to Boston).

If I was a Boston fan, I wouldn't have wanted to trade Jefferson for KG straight up, and I think that ultimately, Minnesota would've accepted exactly that. But, we've had this discussion and there's really no reason to get into it again.

Random game- Give me your best team of guys not expected to start on their current teams this season.

For the record, I went by Yahoo Sports depth charts to determine if a player is expected to start or not, so don't bother arguing regarding that.

I'd go with:

Starting 5
PG Jose Calderon
SG Leondro Barbosa
SF Josh Childress
PF David Lee
C Alonzo Mourning

Backups: Andres Nocioni, Darko Milicic, Jerry Stackhouse, Jarrett Jack

If this team played in the East, how many wins?

Maybe 20. There's no one remotely close to a create-his-own shot guy on that team.

Darko is slotted in as the starting PF

uh oh guys- I did a ctrl+f of this thread for "warriors" and it only turned up in 4 posts! I guess I have to start posting again!

Anyway, can't wait until tomorrow night; this is gonna be a great season.

From my perspective I'm extremely excited to see Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins continue to improve, and to get to watch Stephen Jackson for the whole year. Apparently Baron has lost 20 pounds this offseason which should be great for his knees, and in an interview with the Chronicle a few days ago he said he's never gone into a season feeling this focused and determined.

It feels like just yesterday I was sitting at the Oracle watching Dirk and Cuban and the rest of the mavs slink out in shame, and it's gonna be a blast watching it again this year

In non-warriors news, BostonPhoenixDallasSanAntonioDenverHoustonChicagoA tlantaMinnesota should all be interesting, but everyone already knew that.

mark your calendars for 11/26, PHX @ GSW could be the first 300 total point game in quite some time.
