Raising and creating a pot where the only river bet possible is an all in doesn't really jive with showing down cheap.

Just call, and probably fold if he leads the river again.

manlyman -

Just checking back on this thread, and looks like no one else responded. If you minraise to 40 and he calls, the pot will be 110 on the river, not 70. I didn't realize you were quite so deep the first time I read this, so that changes things to some extent, but...

If you're ahead and he's got an unimproved pocket pair, he's very unlikely to catch up on you. If he has one of these hands, very little chance he calls a turn raise, either (even a minraise). If you get a call on your minraise you're probably beat. Most 18/14's don't call 3bets OOP without something like TT/JJ/QQ. The only possible draw I could see being worried about is KcQc, but most often these guys will fold that preflop as well.

So, just call. No real scare cards for you, you might junkball a three on the river and nail up AK, he might make a small river bet with a slowplayed KK or maybe QQ trying to get some value from JJ (unlikely though), or maybe he'll make a crying call if you vbet the river small if he has like QQ.

So, yah, just call, mostly fold the river if he leads again, mostly vb smallish if he checks it over.

you would be better off just betting the flop and shutting down if called.

dont like reraising this deep with a hand like a3s...

i just call the turn bet.. if he s a reasonable thinking player he would presume you dont have a great hand , since there are allot of draws out there and youre giving him great odds...

i fold if he bets, and otherwise check behind
