I think you have to call this here. He could easily have a lower set, possibly 2 pair, or even AA that missed a turn c/raise and now for some reason thinks is good.

Yeah and I agree with dj... I'd raise river to around 40 and that makes it a trivially easy call.

pros to call :
you should have bet the turn instead of giving him a freecard. By checking the turn, you show him some weakness. So he could think you have second pair (A-10 suited) or medium pocket pair (7-7, 8-8). He can't put you on J-J because you don't bet the turn, so your "bad" play is indeed helping you as the river is luckyly a J :-)

cons to call :
- the way he played (call flop, check turn and bet river) is typically a straight draw that hits on the river.
- Besides, the fact you bet pre-flop UTG shows a strong hand like A-K or high pocket pair (10-10, J-J, Q-Q). So as he is in SB, he won't call you out of position without a good hand. A-Q, KQ suited are hands he will call with.
With A-Q in SB, a call from him really is a possibility.
- With Hand like A-K, he would have re-raise you pre-flop or on the flop.
- his first bet on the river looks really like a value bet. He thinks you are so weak by not betting the turn (there is no way he is putting you on a set right now) that you will not call more than half of the pot.
- By raising 25$ (stack=70$) you are now pot-commited (it means if he raises, your call is automatically an all-in).
So When he puts you all-in, it shows a strong hand from him.

my choice : fold
next time : bet the turn man!!! ;-)

I disagree. The turn check is much better play. No need to face a possible check raise and have to throw away a hand you would like to showdown with. Inducing a river bluff with a turn check is much stronger play IMO.

I agree that raising bigger on the river and calling an all in is probably the most profitable play. I don't think any river raise play and then folding to a reraise can be good. So in this case, you need to be prepared to play for your stack before the you raise the river or else just call.
