This is just one of the many examples, albeit a very good one. That you choose to blame this on my misunderstanding (the same one every other person posting in that thread, perhaps bar one or two, seemed to have made) speaks volumes.

I'm not disgusted by dids's posts. I don't even particularly care, I'm not one to really be all that moved by most celebrity deaths. He did, however, act like a complete asshat in a thread in which people were otherwise respectful, displaying his idiocy by insulting everyone else in a pathetic attempt at justifying his earlier lack of tact.

Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, it's just sort of strange to want to have him representing your forum when there appear to be many other willing candidates for modship (although they may not want to mod his particular forum, which is understandable).

That thread was a perfect storm: some people not liking Dids + him making that statement + tragic event + people getting a chance to get on their high horse and act self-righteous at him = thread derailment. I totally understood the point he was making with his initial comment. Sure, it wasn't necessary. The problem was that *he* did it so everybody piled on, and then he felt the need to defend himself, and they called him more names, rinse, repeat. It would have been best if he let well enough alone after that first post.

note: I only read his initial post and one or two haters, then stopped before I got to didsees reponse. Ill take it from you guys it went downhill from there.
