Default .25/.50 PS I flop Aces up

I hadn't noticed anything particularly strange about our villian except that he is way too loose and passive preflop. He limps with holdings such as AJ and calls when ever he he faces aggression.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB folds, UTG folds, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button caps</font>, Hero calls.

I think I gave too much action here after thinking about the hand (regardless of the results) I didn't put the villian on a range and I thought.. SOMG.. I have two pair.

Turn: (6 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button caps</font>, Hero calls.

After I put in the third bet, my plan was to call and check call any river except an A. This is where I started thinking about my opponents holdings. He had at least two pair on the turn, very likely a set of 5s or 7s, but he could also have A7 or A5.

River: (14 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button caps</font>, Hero calls.

On the river there are 4 combos of A5 I tie, 4 I lose when he has A7 and I beat the 6 combos of 75 and the 4 combos of sets he could hold.

With that info, what is your take of the river action?

Turn 3-bet is way too much.

You should have cut off the action after your river 3-bet (because your most likely in trouble when he caps) but I think the river is fine. Given your description I would have thought he would slow down on the turn with two pair, so I think he most likely has a set at this point.

It looks like the turn and river are both too much. On the turn if you give him 77, 55, 75s, 75o, A7, and decently discounted AQ you're a sizable dog. On the river, if you take out 75s and 75o you're 50/50.

The other A5 is a wash (or not, depending on rake) and the 1 combo of AA (on the turn) obviously brings down your equity.

when villian caps the flop here your hand value goes down big, indicating he has a better 2pair or a set here, however some will cap it with AK at this spot. when going to the turn my usually line is to c/c and river I would b/c. When he raises the turn you have to think that you are behind.

also AQ beats you on the river and what did he have A5 also?

I agree; way too much action on turn. It should have been bet call on turn.

I forgot villian MAY have had AQ that would put me behind to even more hands on river (8 hands?) so a c/r call wouldn't be bad there would it?

I normally don't play this spewy anymore, but like I said, in the heat of the moment I was like ...

"I HAVE TOO PEARS!!!! I'M ALL-IN!!1!"

call the turn raise, then c/r the river, call a 3bet.

This actions screams set to me, after he raises the turn which I would have bet.

I would have bet/call turn, c/r and cap river. If you're beat, you're beat. But, at this level, I think this is a winner more often than not.

There are 2 combos of A5 (Ad 5d, Ad 5h), 3 combos of A7 (Ad 7d, Ad 7c, Ad 7s), not 4 and 6.
