Winter in North America is actually the end of rainy season here in Costa Rica, and the courses finally dry out. You can play during rainy season but it's nowhere near as enjoyable as the course is pretty soggy for the first few holes. I expect to continue playing every week.

Golf courses will be open here (Ireland) all winter but most parkland courses will be wet and you can't play off fairways so i'll play more links golf over the winter

Only for the brave. You like playing in 48mph wind gusts when it is 48 degrees F?

The leaves are falling here in Ohio/Michigan, but several area courses do a great job with removing them. Things are fine up until about October 20th.

I don't mind it when it's either cold or windy but when you get both it sucks. sometimes you get lucky though, like for the walker cup, they got pretty good links weather for that
Have to say though, I got some under armour heat gear recently and i think it will be a welcome addition for this winter

I live in Vancouver so I will play golf all winter (except for the day or 2 it may snow) I also go to Mexico and stay near El Tigre in PV and golf daily there for 2 weeks.

I'm flying to South Carolina to visit my girlfriend and play some golf this weekend. Haven't played since the end of summer, so hopefully it's not too too bad. Wish me luck.

I plan on practicing (mainly short game) like hell this winter...

[/ QUOTE ]

This is pretty much my plan. I'm kind of sad that the scoring season is done.

My main goal this year ended up become a much better ball striker. I've always had a good swing for a 18-20 hcp, but I never struck the ball consistently.

I was able to practice much more than play this year, so I really accomplished striking the ball much better and consistently. But I let my shortgame go to pot, etc.

This fall and winter I hope to keep my full swing in shape and really get my short game where it used to be. We have some decent par 3 and pitch/putt courses and that has worked well for me in the past for condensed practice.

As the location says, I'm off to New Zealand soon which means summer for me all over again so it looks like I'll be playing quite a bit.

Keep waiting. No seriously, don't leave the phone for any reason whatsoever.

I just starting playing at the end of summer. So I really have no ideas how golf works here (St.Louis MO) during the winter. In fact, if anyone could let me know that would be great. I know my driving range advertises heated tee boxes for the winter so at least I can practice.

I still have plans to play every day I can this weekend and then some. Weather is still nice but I sprained something and have not been able to do anything for over a week. Finally feel good but giving it a day or 2 so the pain doens't come back.
