It's going to be hard for Bennet to get out of the lease anytime soon, and I think sooner than later a viable local ownership group with a plan for a new area is going to show up.

I know you're at work and whatnot, so let me summarize what I learned on ESPNews so far today:

A group of community business leaders put in a bid to keep the team in Sea-town
Bennett said no plans to sell and filed the necessary paperwork with the NBA to move to OKC

Just move the Hawks to OKC since nobody in Atlanta cares anyway.

Also, thanks on the Key Arena bit. I guess I remember it being "Seattle Coliseum" when they were good prior to that.

Pity they replace these old buildings with newer, cavernous ones with stuffier corporate types. Places like the Rose Garden and their 12,888 loyal and screaming fans were one of the best things about the NBA.

Oh trust me, I know what's going on.

Clay Clay doesn't have to sell yet, but I think eventually he will. Right now he can still pretend he has bargining room because he hasn't lost the suit he needs to suit that tells me he can't move now.

Also local ownership needs to come up with a viable plan (all that the thing was today was dick waiving) for a new place to play. The Stern can use his Big Stick to make things happen. Stern has to be doom and gloom until there's a new arena in play.

This team is going to be sick good in a couple of years. If they can find a PG without his head lodged firmly in his ass.

Nice.

Have to say the Hawks have been mildly disappointing. I think they need to just keep running Law out there - he either gets it or he doesn't but Lue is awful, and playing JJ or Chill at the point is very not good...
