Yeah, I should add that I closed AVG and still couldn't open Full Tilt Shortcuts.

[/ QUOTE ]

That seems strange.

What happened when you tried to start FTS?

What happens if you locate FTS in windows explorer and run it from there (or if using vista... right click on it and run as adminstator)?

I get the following message when I tried to open it from my folder or through Windows Explorer:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

And fwiw, the icon on FTS is now a generic exe icon rather than your custom one.

And I'm on XP, not Vista.

I just did a google search using this search:
"Windows cannot access the specified device" avg

There are a large number of links that talk about the problem with AVG causing this type of problem. After searching for a bit, the best advice I found so far is from the link:

http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthr...918&page=3
where the following message appeared:

Matacumbie your the best man, I solved the issue, when I downloaded the file, I scanned the file with AVG a Virus was shown but I ignored it and I did not take any action against the file, I let it be. Apparently it did something not allowing me to access it. I didn't know how to disable AVG other then, going through System Configuration Utility, so I uninstalled it, and guess what it works now. Now my question is, can I reinstall AVG if I want to keep running this file? It's really not harmful to my machine, but I am gonna check with some experts on that shortly. So in recapping, I could not get this file to run with the exception of running it in safe mode which meant some file in normal mode was preventing the execution of this file, it basically was a process of elimination. I uninstalled the following AVG Free Edition, Spysweeper, and Zone Alarm, but it was AVG Free Edition that was the culprit.

[/ QUOTE ]

It appears that AVG does something to the file (or folder) to prevent a program from running. If I understand the above message correctly, they uninstalled AVG and they were then allowed to run the file. Seems like there must be a better solution out there... anyone else find anything?

Hi,

I want to have the middle button (which is set for double-click in the system) input my bet rather than having the bet automatically input. I am using ~MButton for the mouse code. Is this correct? It doesn't seem to be working, but if I change it to F11, it works fine.

Thanks

Gary,

My recent build is an E6750 overclocked to 3.5 GHz with 4GB of Crucial Ballistix RAM, a Segate Raptor 10K HD, and an 8600GT video card. The only programs installed so far are Vista, Office, and Poker (PT, PAHUD, FTP, FTP Shortcuts).

I usually play 6 – 8 tables, and set FTP / FTP Shorts to high priority w/ PT set to low. While I’m getting less yellow screens, I still get lag.

Sadly, I actually built this box JUST TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM and have no clue how this setup isn’t enough to run simple poker programs. Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

I'm in the exact the same spot as you. I have a very fast computer. I've disabled virus scanner, set high priority on fts/ftp client etc. but I still get these yellow screens over my poker tables!

Today a yellow screen cost me a three way allin pot :-/

Nanochip, do you have a solution to this problem yet?

Try this link for version 1.54.

I was just able to download v1.55 using nano's link in an earlier post.

Curious. While I sometimes get a little slowdown when PT is doing a hand import, I never get the yellow screens. There used to be some slight lag as FTS was adjusting the slider bar but I think this latest helped that problem a lot. Are you guys getting yellow screens even without PT doing hand imports?

And I'm using an old by todays standards AMD64 3000+ CPU.

The only time I ever get yellow screens is when I have connection problems to Full Tilt.

Can you give me some ideas for how I can duplicate this?
What is it that leads you to believe that FTS is the problem?

When exactly do you get a yellow screen? Does it happen right after you hit a hotkey assigned in FTS? Perhaps when you hit the Fold key or click on the Fold button. If so, I may have something for you to try (increase Safety Delay 1 on the Misc tab by 100). But only if you see the yellow screen right after you hit a fold/call/or bet key. You can also uncheck the "preset bet" checkbox on the street bet tab, and this will eliminate the only possibility I know of to yellow screen a Full Tilt table using FTS. But with the current Safety Delay settings I have not seen or heard of any yellow screens caused by FTS in many months (but anything is possible, so let's investigate this possibility).

I seriously don't think that the speed of your computer is an issue. I play 6-8 tables with FTS, PAHud and PokerTracker running on my little Sony 1 GHz laptop (running an external 1600x1200 monitor). I don't modify any of the priorities in task manager.

There is a thread on 2+2 that might help the lag/speed issue here. :

One tip given was:
[ QUOTE ]
Assuming Windows XP, Right Click Desktop > Properties > Theme Tab > Choose Windows Classic. This made all the difference in the world for me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Let me know how it goes. I'll help if I can, but don't know what else to offer now.
